Israel’s administrative detention system is legalized injustice – imprisoning people indefinitely without charge or trial, based on secret evidence they can’t see and can’t challenge. It’s the antithesis of due process and a tool of pure repression.

While awaiting evacuation from Gaza, Borak and Hashem Alagha – teenage American citizens from Chicago – were violently abducted by Israeli forces during a raid on their home, where they were blindfolded, beaten, and taken without charge.

What began as attorney Maria Kari’s efforts to bring a family to safety from Gaza to America has turned into a harrowing saga of unlawful imprisonment, as the boys remain held without due process in Israel’s violent, degrading, and illegal detention system.
